A growing number of academic medical centers (e.g., University of Michigan, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Boston University Medical Center) are establishing policies that ban drug company representatives’ educational programs and free lunches. (See http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/18/AR2007011801376.html for more background on this topic.) Similar policies are being adopted by smaller medical groups and individual physicians as well.
Is this something that you have had experience with? How do you feel about these policies and do you believe they will impact the way drugs are prescribed?
Do you have any other comments or feedback on the documentary modules? If so, please post a message. Thanks!
